Choosing the right location was critical, indeed. After extensive exploration, we found, finally, the perfect setting that echoed the band’s unique style—a desolate, rugged terrain, reflecting the gritty, raw feel of their music. And boy, did it provide a visually striking contrast to the vibrant personalities of the band members.

The magic truly happened when the band started playing impromptu. The passion, the intensity, the raucous energy – I aimed to encapsulate it all in my shots. Utilizing natural light, we manipulated shadows and reflections to bring out the stark emotions that their music represents.

A piece of world heritage: The Blast furnaces in the City of Science

The blast furnaces of Belval that form part of the City of Science at the new university are a major tourist attraction and cultural highlight. You can climb up more than 180 steps to reach a height of 40m in blast furnace A, as part of a guided tour led by former steelworkers. From there you have an amazing view of a unique ensemble of urban buildings.

Now, you might ask, “What about the challenges of an outdoor photoshoot?” Weather is an uncontrollable element, but we turned it into an advantage, using the piercing sun to create intense, dramatic shots that wouldn’t have been possible in a studio setup.

In conclusion, this was a photoshoot that rocked as hard as this rock band music does. Every image tells a story – of their passion, their dedication, and their love for what they do. As a photographer, I believe that’s the sweet spot where art meets strategy.

This music band is a melodic Hard Rock band based in the south of Luxembourg. The band was formed in late 1992 by 5 schoolmates.
What first seemed to be a “Just for fun” student project, turned rapidly into a serious band project with straight ambitions.
The Rock Band songs can be described as the product of bits and pieces of composition and improvisation that the members toss out at rehearsals or on their own.
